The Grass Grows Blue (But I Miss You) Back Yard Bluegrass Festival

Back Yard Bluegrass Festival Unisex All-Over Print Tee
from $29.73

A signature design by Jason Christopher Hackwith, this is the official Grass Grows Blue tee. When we can’t gather safely together at bluegrass festivals and jams, we can still gather in our back yards, porches, living rooms, and dens to share our favorite tunes, songs, and memories. Post your music and videos to social media using the hashtag #grassgrowsblue to join the festival!

Like all of our AOP designs, this shirt is printed, cut, and sewn just for you. The cost is a little higher and production takes just a little longer but we're positive you will agree that it is worth it! With its uniquely textured, thick, microfiber-knit fabric, this t-shirt bears a premium, soft feel that remains lightweight and highly breathable – the perfect combo for a hot day or layering. White stitching on light-weight 4oz or medium-weight 6oz fabric.

Festivals across the US have had to make difficult decisions this year, and despite the wisdom of holding off on them until this virus is under control, I know I am not the only one who misses their family and friends terribly, especially this time of year when I am usually performing with my band Wanigan and sitting in on jam sessions late into the night.

Well, I’ve decided to do something about it. I’ve been thinking long and hard about ways that I can use the resources I have at hand to bring the people I love and care about together, in the ways that we can. With that in mind, I’m proud to present:

the BackYard
Bluegrass Festival

This year, we can’t gather safely together at bluegrass festivals and jams, but we can gather virtually in our back yards, porches, living rooms, and dens to share our favorite tunes, songs, memories, and more.

To participate, just use the hashtag #GRASSGROWSBLUE wherever you post your videos online to Twitter, Facebook, or YouTube, and stay tuned here for more as the summer progresses! We especially would love to see your videos about your favorite memories from festivals and jam sessions over the years.

No festival is complete without a shirt design, so I am proud to announce the first of my latest signature designs that is now available.

A percentage of the proceeds from this design go to the Musicians Foundation, a 501(c)3 organization that provides nation-wide support to thousands of musicians across all genres, offering the support necessary for them to weather financial difficulties and personal setbacks with dignity and security.

We pray this finds you safe and healthy until we meet again, one sunny day.
