I’ve always loved lions. And lambs. From the very first time I read the Chronicles of Narnia, I dreamed of burying my hands into the friendly mane of Aslan. And I have held little lambs with their milky breath and softness. When I began this work, I wanted to capture the same expression in the lion and in the lamb. If you look closely, you will see that there are tears in the eyes of both: this is the God I have come to know, who weeps and cries and carries us when our little legs get tired.

Festivals across the US have had to make difficult decisions this year, and despite the wisdom of holding off on them until this virus is under control, I know I am not the only one who misses their family and friends terribly, especially this time of year when I am usually performing with my band Wanigan and sitting in on jam sessions late into the night.

I was honored to be asked to be a part of the 35 Year Celebration event for Life Choices Clinic this past Tuesday evening. Scott and Susanne Maynes approached me a few weeks ago with this slideshow presentation project, featuring Susanne's song "In the Balance" and photos of babies the clinic has helped along with staff and volunteers who make it all possible.
Almost thirty years in the making, the river Beautiful will be published as a premium hardcover, a value softcover, and a very special online multimedia experience.
