“When we long for life without difficulties, remind us that oaks grow strong in contrary winds and diamonds are made under pressure.”
X is now EXED
In light of recent events and a long history of grotesque pandering to racism and extremists on the part of Elon Musk, we will no longer be providing social media services on X to any of our clients. We no longer consider X a viable source for news or a responsible vector for social media or worth our clients’ time.
I WALK THE RIVER ROAD UPON A PATH PAVED WITH RAZORS

Thank you from the bottom of my heart
Today we celebrate the brave men and women who have served our country. The reasons they serve are as diverse as they are. The sacrifice they gave for us makes them family.
Into the Woods
Change is a new road.
The twists and turns, the dips and valleys, the hills that you have yet to climb; they are all unknowns. When you step into a new road, it can feel like you are all alone. Change can leave us breathless and reeling; staggering from step to step, looking frantically down this unknown path and back from which we came. Which way was it again? We're lost.
INTO THE FLAME
The year was 1997.
The time was pretty bright for me. I was playing with a remarkable little band with fantastic guitarist Jasen Hecker and amazing songwriter Ryan Mainierd. We had big dreams. I was greatly inspired by Ryan’s excellent songwriting, and I wanted to write an epic song about an epic idea.
It's been too long, strangers
I feel ya, Nickel Creek. Yes, “even hard times fly and leave us speechless in the darkness before the dawn.” These past three years feel like a decade; these past twenty-three feel like a hundred years. The collective trauma that we have all suffered these past three years will take a long time to heal.
Once More Into the Beach
My incredibly resourceful and beautiful wife Lindsay has accepted a fantastic first great teaching position at Yaquina View Elementary school in the completely unfairly beautiful town of Newport, Oregon. We are, at the risk of understating it, deliriously happy.
Snow where to go but up
It's been an interesting week here in the lovely little town of Darrington, Washington and the Seattle metro area. We have been visited by what some here are calling "Snowpocalypse 2019." Or, what people in my hometown of Coeur d'Alene would have called, "Sunday afternoon."
We have relocated!
I’m pleased to tell you that my beautiful wife Lindsay and I have relocated to Darrington, Washington: a lovely little town located in the middle of the Cascades. Lindsay is now the kindergarten teacher for Darrington Elementary School, where she is having an exciting time with an all-new class of little guys and gals. You can follow her adventures on her new blog at MissLindsay.org.
